Season
(October - November; March - April)
We are able to organize European Brown Bear hunting in the central districts of Croatia and Slovenia. The bear population is very stable and we have access to tickets to allow hunting of a limited number of gold medal mature Brown bears (over 300 CIC points). The Brown Bear Hunt takes place in the wild mountains of central Croatia in the regions of Gorski Kotar and Lika, and Kocevje in Slovenia.
The hunting takes place in areas where local gamekeepers continuously monitor the movement and size of the bear population, often by monitoring the animals as they cross forest roads. Hunters wait for the bear under a full moon in a comfortable enclosed high seat, and under good visibility the bear becomes a clear target when within range. Accurate shooting is vital and the bear can only be taken when approved by the gamekeeper as a wounded bear is a great risk and cannot be followed. This hunt is only for experienced hunters and needs to be planned well in advance. The Bear population in Croatia is increasing slowly and bears often cause much damage to local farms ensuring that this is a very good time to take a big bear in Slovenia or Croatia.
